Beware Belgian bootleg

Our 1st Army troops are still rolling across the Rhine River into Germany although now the German resistance is getting stiffer and more desperate. In Japan, 15 square miles have been devastated by bombs as we push east in the Pacific and build more airfields. On the negative side, enterprising Belgian peasants making bootleg cognac caused an epidemic of liquor poisoning among our troops stationed there. Here in Denver we’re snug as a bug in a rug with the comics and with Jack Benny. Tonight’s episode is all about how Jack found Rochester.
