It keeps getting better and better: Our troops poured across the Rhine yesterday. It was an unbelievable coup. German commanders fumbled. They never expected us to keep coming so there were no machine gun emplacements so stop us. Instead, our 1st Army troops just kept pouring across as the Germans in villages on the east side of the river watched in amazement. The whole village surrendered. In fact, Allies have taken 1,000,000 German prisoners since D-Day. The big question: Will we beat the Russians to Berlin?

Light the Sabbath candles. The war can’t go on much longer.
