Captured American traitor sentenced to hang

Amid major Red Army advances, a US Court tried and convicted two Nazi spies William Curtis Colepaugh “a double-crossing traitor”, an American, a native of Niantic, CT and Erick Gimpel were convicted today as Nazi spies and sentenced to death by hanging. They violated the articles of war by secretly landing behind American lines from a submarine to act as spies. Colepaugh claims he was forced to join the German army and become a spy.
