Bataan Death March Survivors Freed

Friday, Feb.2, 1945

Our troops have achieved a glorious rescue in Luzon. With the help of Filipino guerrillas, they have freed 511 men from the Cabanatuam Japanese Prisoner of War camp. “Take it easy, men. The Yanks are here,” our soldiers called out as prisoners cowered thinking the it was the Japanese come to kill them.

With hope that all such prisoners will soon enjoy freedom, light the Sabbath candles.
