Three steps forward, Two back

Wednesday, Jan 3, 1945

Brr, the temperature high today is 31’. But that doesn’t matter here in Bridgeport, CT. I play outside almost all day and, Mommy wrote to Daddy, I “eat like a wolf and sleep like a hibernating bear.” No word yet on if or when we’ll be joining him in Denver but our bags are packed and Mommy went down to the train station to find out about getting to Chicago. Yesterday, American bombers attacked a railroad bridge near Bangkok, Thailand but Patton’s troops are still battling back and forth with Nazi panzer divisions.
