Making the best of things

Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1944

1944_12_copyeditorsWe’re waiting for word about Daddy and wondering what will happen next. Grandma and Grandpa are very busy in the story all day helping people buy Christmas bikes for the children. Mommy is busy caring for me and the house and doing the cooking. While I nap, she works on short stories she wants to sell to magazines. In the evening, after we light the menorah and I got to bed. Grandma and Grandpa read Mommy’s drafts for her. That is usually Daddy’s job but she’s making the best of the present circumstances. And Grandma and Grandpa are very good critics.
