Your Socks Don’t Match

Friday, Dec. 1, 1944

Another busy day for us all. Grandma and Grandpa went to the store. Mommy and I are doing our chores. I can see that she is nervous. We haven’t heard from Daddy for a week. We keep our spirits up by listening to funny songs like this one on the radio. At least it is the Sabbath soon. Grandpa puts on a special robe and sings the blessings over the wine and challah the way his father, a Cantor, taught him.

Light the Sabbath candles.
