screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-11-19-33-amToday it was announced that Colonel Hubert Zemke, 31, the “fightingest” American pilot commander in Europe has been missing since October 30. Fellow pilots saw him go down inside Germany while leading his Lightning-Mustang group on a bomber escort mission. By the time he went missing, he was credited with bringing down more than 19 Nazi planes and destroying more than 8 on the ground. He’s one among the 1,801 recent casualties listed by the Army. Against the loss of these patriots we can be thankful that the German battle ship Tirpitz has been sunk and Patton has seized three fortresses in Metz.
