All of Belgium freed!

Thursday, Nov.2, 1944

Scenes such as this are playing out in Europe as our forces roll up the Nazi line. It’s almost enough to make us forget the vicious presidential election. There’s less than a week to go. Mommy is not the kind to bite her nails but she sure is taking me out for lots of walks. Update on our project home: Not likely to ready for Thanksgiving 1944 – maybe Thanksgiving 1945, if we’re still here. Mommy wrote home: “They have put in the windows but not much else. One of the workers told me I could plan to have my Xmas dinner here. I told him I had been hoping to eat my Thanksgiving turkey there and he laughed.”
