Athens Liberated!

Thursday, Oct. 12, 1944

Is football a metaphor for this war or a welcome distraction. Whichever, there’s growing excitement about the coming Saturday football match between Notre Dame and Dartmouth in Boston’s Fenway Park. How fitting that Athens was liberated from the Nazis today. The Allies are punching through the Nazi line.
