Patton enters Germany!

Thursday, Sept. 14, 1944

General George S. Patton is inside Germany! The fight is reported going well for the Allies. This may not be the best news. There’s speculation that the German troops are falling back in order to make a stronger stand at the Rhine. But even that news pales beside the warning that the hurricane will start hitting New England tonight. And in case anyone was wondering, yes, the baseball season is still on; the Pirates have won nine straight victories so far over the Cardinals.
