Is it right to mourn the death of a Nazi? Berthold Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg was hung yesterday for his part in Operation Valkyrie, the failed plot to assassinate Hitler. He was a devout Catholic, a hero who lost an eye and part of each hand in Tunisia, an aristocrat who apparently loathed Hitler and Nazism. And yet it took over a decade from that loathing to prompt action. Why so long?
