Seeing the White House

Tuesday, Aug 1, 1944

1944_DC_LowenthalI got a dog! Okay, it’s a stuffed dog. According to the letter Mommy wrote home today, I have named it “Mithridates.” That seems like a stretch fora one-year old. More likely is her report that I call it “Biggibiggibiggy.” The toy is a gift from a cousin in the Armed Forces who is visiting here on leave. We are taking her all around Washington to see lots of sights. That’s us in front of the White House
