WR Hosp 1944It’s incredibly hot and muggy today. Here’s how some nurses at Walter Reed got relief. Not so hot: one of Mussolini’s love letters just surfaced. It’s mostly about his stomach problems. In agony from the gas pains, he wrote his mistress Clara Petacci, “I tried to ease myself by rolling chairs from the room.” Why this would work, I have no idea. When I have gas pains, Mommy or Daddy just pats me on the back.
