Grandma and Grandpa were so happy to see me! Best of all was Rikki Tikki Tavi. He gave my face a big wet slurp when I hugged him. We spent a hot summer day on the big wrap-around porch with its canvas flooring. Inside, mom and grandma are setting up the canning jars and other supplies. This will be a big summer in the Victory Garden and they’re going to put up lots of fruits and vegetables to help the war effort. Talk about abundance: a local foxhound delivered 23 pups in one litter. No kidding! Here’s a picture to prove it.
