Republican Governors in a stew

“We are not a group of insurgents by any means. We’re interested in a Republican victory and we want to see the platform and give our opinions on it,” says Governor Raymond E Baldwin of Connecticut. The Republican national Convention in Chicago has nominated Dewey 841 votes to 94. Republicans have pledged to do“A Job for the People.” But there are lots of unanswered questions. At home, the GOP wants to dismantle the Democrats’ signature “New Deal” programs such as Social Security. Abroad, what about post-war relations with Communist Russia? And how responsible should the USA for setting Europe back on its feet?
