King George VI visits Normandy

Friday, June 16, 1944

Another barrage of V1 rockets hit Britain last night – 244 of them! That hasn’t prevented King George VI of England from crossing the Channel to visit his troops in Normandy as they press North. We Americans also press on, the 7th Corps of Collins East, the 82nd Airborne North. The 9th Infantry just liberated Orglandes.

Light the Sabbath candles and be grateful for the comfort and safety of our little cottage. We know we are lucky.
