Finally, a newspaper! Someone left The Naugatuck Daily News at my grandparents’ store. Our bombers are still blasting German positions in Europe. Things are going better in Burma, too, as General Stilwell’s Chinese troops gained control of Mogaung Valley. I like this funny picture of a donkey but I guess the question of Roosevelt’s fourth term is a serious one. The Republicans are hopping mad about it! Tonight we’re going to listen to “Duffy’s Tavern” on the radio. My mother likes a singer Dennis Day who’s going to be on the show.
