Homeward bound?

Tuesday, April 18, 19441944_Carlisle Barracks_car seat

How do you like my car seat? We’re on our way to the train station. The suitcases were for real. My mother was packing bags last night while my father read a textbook. My mother and I are going to stay with my grandparents in Connecticut while my father studies for an exam. I don’t think that’s the only reason she’s taking me home. I think she’s also tired of trying to make a home for us in this old hotel.
