1943_Coca cola_p.8_Nov. 16While my family drives east, they probably stopped for lunch somewhere. Maybe even had a coke with a grilled cheese sandwich. In WWII movies, soldiers are always giving out chocolate to children and silk stockings to young women as they liberate town after town. But there was another American product that gained currency during the war: Coca Cola. The war was nowhere near over but already the possibilities were clear. This advertisement is the epitome of “soft power.”
