Bad news from the Russian front: The Nazis have retaken Kharkov. And while Allied leaders press for more aid to Russia and for launching a second front, Home Front Texas Senator Tom Connally has asked a curb on US vows to Allies. He doesn’t want America involved in any world pacts. So, on the one hand we’re fighting a global war and on the other resisting involvement in institutions that might insure peace — or at least limit the extent of future conflicts.
