Casablanca – City of Hope and Despair!

Saturday, Feb. 6, 1943

Screen Shot 2015-02-02 at 11.41.13 AM“Date Night” is a modern concept. But going to the movies is as American as apple pie. And there was a terrific new movie in the theaters: Casablanca. With Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart as the leads, it reflected all that was going on in the real world  — the battles in North Africa, the changing alliance with the French, the growing sense that good would ultimately conquer evil. Enjoy the trailer. (Link above) Even if you’ve seen the movie dozens of times, watch it again as if it were 1943.
